- Chip Pieroni <ppieroni@ppse.win-uk.net> asked:
- :
- : Is there any point in buying a 1581 for a C64 ? Can it use
- : it properly or is it best left to the C128 ?

- : Abso-damn-lutely! If you get a good price on the '81, go for it. Put Jiffy-dos
- : on board and watch how fast your 64 programs load in. You won't have the time
- : to go for that sandwich like you used to while loading in a program. :-)
- : There was a program that I bought years ago on cassette (I *said* years ago)
- : that took 35 minutes to load in. I found the same program on disk (5 1/4) This
- : took 3.5 minutes. On my '81 with JD, 15 secs!!!!!
- : Ain't technology great?
-
- Alternatively use it with the Action Replay VI fastloader! It bloody loves
- the 1581! Average time for a 200 block file from 5.25" is about 5-6 sec. and
- for the same on 1581 is about 4-5 sec.
-
- And the best bit is over 3000 bytes free!

- Jason (oh, did that AR get to you okay Chip? =-)
